Privacy Policy

Spotlight ("the Extension") is a browser extension that lets you visually highlight elements on any web page for clean screenshots. Your privacy matters to us, so we designed Spotlight to work entirely on your device.
Data we collect
None.
Spotlight does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, browsing history, page content, or analytics. We have no servers that receive data from the Extension.
Permissions explained

Local storage
The Extension stores a small amount of settings data in your browser's local extension storage. This includes:
- Accent color preference
- Dim opacity level
- Whether element labels are shown
- Border width and padding values
This data is stored locally on your device via the browser's built-in extension storage API. It is never transmitted to any external server. You can clear it at any time by removing the Extension.
Third-party services
Spotlight does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, or data-processing services.
Content access
When activated, Spotlight reads the visual layout of elements on the current page (bounding rectangles and tag names) to render the highlight overlay. This information is processed entirely in memory within your browser tab and is never stored or transmitted.
Children's privacy
Spotlight does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
